Nut Graf

A "Nut Graf" is an American english journalism term that is a paragraph usually in a feature story that explains the news value of the story.  Editors and journalist use "nut graf" a lot because it summarizes the essence of a story. This can be an entire paragraph or just a simple sentence. The nut graf is short for "nutshell paragraph" also known as writing the paragraph "in a nutshell".
