Final Exam Planning

My plan

1. I plan to shoot this assignment either this weekend (April 30th, May 1st) or the next weekend (May  7th, may 8th)
2. I will shoot at my house
3. I plan to document my friends birthday party down town (I am not certain yet)
4. I will need to check out a camera (canon rebel)
5. I will use still photos at the beginning and end then the video with audio voice over in the middle most likely.

Portfolio Analysis

c. judges notes- and backgrounds, heavy on color (curves and levels), and hard to understand what photos are.
d. I didn't like this portfolio because I never really knew what was happening and what each photo was. I was kind of confused. Also, the photos had bad lighting and weren't very focused.

a. everybody is doing something in a lot of the pictures, they liked the different concepts the photographer had, and they liked how some things were focused and some things weren't

b. I noticed a lot of strengths the photographer had. One being that he always got the pictures at the perfect time. The only real weakness I noticed was that he did you a lot of photoshop around some parts of the pictures.

Sports/Action Finale and Architectural Preview Assignment


Kunsthaus Graz, Australia
1. the architects are Sir Peter Cook and Colin Fournier
2. It was built in 2003
3. It is located in Australia
4. It is an art museum that you can visit
5. I could not find anything that says the cost of building this 
6. The building is just an art museum
7. I picked this building because I saw that is was in Australia and i have always wanted to visit there and I know everything there is beautiful so I wanted to see it. I also chose this one when I saw it because the shape and detail is like something Ive never seen before. It almost looks like the pictures of different bacterias we see in science.

4. these buildings welcome visitors and you can go on a tour around the area

7. I chose this architecture because I thought the scenery around it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I loved how it is shaped like a sail boat on the ocean. I have also always wanted to visit Dubai and I wanted to do a building from Dubai.

Student of the Month Story

        Claire Cabler was named student of the month at James Bowie High school for the month of March 2016. In her Interview with us, she explains how she accomplished the goals she set for herself to become this role as a student.

         Student of the month is a bog goal for a lot of the students here at James Bowie High School. To become student of the month students had to submit and application along with an essay and then the submissions were narrowed down to 2 students and later voted on by teachers and students.


Body

       Receiving the student of the month award was a big accomplishment for Claire. Cabler says, "I am excited to be able to help the people around me."

       Claire's teachers were very proud of her accomplishments and becoming student of the month. Teacher, Barbara Tilling, says, "Claire really applies herself in class and makes excellent grades. It was no surprise to me when I heard Claire got this award."

        There were many applications submitted for this months award. A total of 289 students applied for this spot. Best friend of Cabler states, "Although I didn't make it to the final cut, I am very proud of her and I know she will make great decisions"

         Not only is Claire a straight A student, she is also into a lot of community service. "I have been doing community service for a while now and plan to keep doing it." Cabler states, "I love to help the people around me".

          Taking on the role of student of the month is a big deal and a lot of hard work. Cabler says, "I hope this award will take to far in life and push me to work harder."

Nut Graf

A "Nut Graf" is an American english journalism term that is a paragraph usually in a feature story that explains the news value of the story.  Editors and journalist use "nut graf" a lot because it summarizes the essence of a story. This can be an entire paragraph or just a simple sentence. The nut graf is short for "nutshell paragraph" also known as writing the paragraph "in a nutshell". The act of a nut graf is called "nut shelling" and the writers are called "nut shellers". he nut graf can be an entire paragraph or just a simple sentence.
